Harley is to motorcycles what Corvette is to automobiles. There are faster, cheaper, more comfortable vehicles, but Harley and the Vette remain in a class by themselves. . . . purebred American Iron.
Unfortunately, there are few choppers left today from their heyday of the '60s and 70s. The movie "Easy Rider" starring Peter Fonda started the "long bike" craze. Soon afterwards, the introduction of cheap Japanese bikes in the mid '70s caused the chooper to fade into the American history.
